Alternatives Conference
To my loyal readers, all 3 of you. I want to update you on my trip to the Alternatives Conference in Orlando.
I drove up from Punta Gorda leaving at 2:00 p.m. Friday using a friend’s truck. I printed up the Google maps with each street image to reduce the anxiety and stress. I always get anxious when driving to places I’m not familiar with or flying or traveling in general. This was doubled having my son with me, since I was worrying about him, too.
We wrote 2 new jokes to add to my stand-up and practiced my act. It was the first time since the May 2011 DBSA conference that I even thought of the bits (jokes). The two jokes we thought were funny. When we finally got to Orlando, following our printed Google maps directions, I told my son to turn on the radio to listen to some music. He pushed what he thought was the power button, then a screen literately popped out from the radio – It was a GPS screen!
When I tried the two new jokes, I ended up messing up the first and still got a giggle and the 2nd sunk like a brick (more about them later this week). I should have made a joke about the GPS.
I want to thank Kodak for fixing my WATER ROOF Kodak ZX3 digital video camera. It leaked water in last month and had their tech fix it. My son recorded my act and later that night we used the WATER PROOF Kodak ZX3 in the pool. Only to have it FAIL in three feet of water! It was FILLED with water and stopped working, it really made this vacation trip horrible with NO KODAK moments. You would think they would water test it before they sent it back… I’m still waiting on Kodak to call me or contact me… It been 2 days since I wrote the e-mail and talked to 2 tech people, one at Kodak who passed the buck.
I was able to get a few of photos because I had my old digital camera and I did get some pictures with a number of Mental health heroes.
This Photo was taken by my friend who I affectionately call Chucky. He is the blogger for the DBSA Colorado State Organization. Chucky was also with me at the DBSA conference for the Stand-Up for mental health comedy night.
Also, This month I’m taking part of the National Health Blog Post Month at WEGO Health.
Today’s Prompt: My TV Show
If my blog was a t.v. show it would have to be a cartoon show.
