Walk for Mental Health Awareness – Mental Health Heroes
I got the month off on the right foot, drawing 11 heroes and their children at my local NAMI walk. I wrote about this day in my post entitled: Mental Health Matters – Mental Health Heroes.
I was honored once again to have this blog post mentioned on Psych Central’s World of Psychology blog: Best of Our Blogs: May 10, 2011 (May 10, 2011).
To add to this month’s drawing was a special day for the blog party. I spent the day with my 4 kids drawing and talking about mental health issues. This gave them a chance to draw me and to express how they see daddy’s “illness.”
I know I missed a few people and I want to APOLOGIZE! I believe you are all heroes! But, alas, May only has 31 days. If I told you I was going to add you this year and inadvertently over-looked you, please let me know and I’ll add you for next year!
BONUS: My 8 year old daughter who I call “Precious” spent most of the last 24 hours helping me draw… and drawing everyone I drew… Here are some of her caricatures:
