Patrick Bruckart just missed lasted year’s Cartoon-A-Thon because we ran out of room…  He has waited since December 13th, 2009 to be part of the cartoon-a-thon.  He is my Mental Health Hero for putting up with me for so long!

Patrick is a mental health consumer and advocate, and a sometimes political activist from Richmond, Virginia.  He is also very active on twitter user and welcomes followers @Method2Mania.

I am a strong believer in peers helping peers, consumer empowerment, and advocacy, but I have learned to keep my commitments in these areas manageable. In my case, this means doing less than most people do and scheduling downtime for myself. By taking things slowly, I hope to better manage my social anxiety and avoid the long periods of isolation that have punctuated my life over the last fifteen or so years.
