Joys Of Volunteering

This month I decided to do what ever I could to Help Youths Who Suffer From Depression or Bipolar Disorder. The organization Child & Adolescent Bipolar Foundation (CABF) has been trying to win a $250,000 grant from Pepsi.  Pepsi will select the winner based on the top two organizations that receive the most votes.
I've done all I possibly can do to help.  I've done everything from blogging about CABF to sharing everything I can on Facebook...  I've been doing all sorts of online begging just to get a vote.

[ ] Get to bed before 3 A.M.

[] ALWAYS FINISH WHAT I.....

Title: Long-term Goals
At the beginning of each year, I like to write down what my goals are for the year.  Before I was a blogger I did this in a notebook that I normally would lose so I never had to see how many of my goals I missed or never ever attempted.

Unfortunately, since I've been blogging I tend to write a post about my goals, and well, as you know, anything you write online stays online... FOREVER!!!

Title: Arbor Seasonal Depression Day
Here is a little something to keep our mental health balanced: Did you know that the United States uses between 35 and 40 million trees during the Christmas season?  If you are feeling guilty for spending too much this year, I thought I would give you something else to transfer your guilt to... The mass death of trees during December!

Recognizing If You’re STRESSED OUT!!

Recognizing Stress
Americans are STRESSED OUT!!

Many of us, young and old, are under “extreme” stress. In our household of two parents and four kids, at times the stress level gets pretty high!!

A recent article in our local paper said: “the American psychological Association conducted 1, 134 adults ages 18 or older from Aug. 3 to Aug. 27, including 100 adults who were parents of children ages 8 to 17.  In addition to the national sample, the association surveyed another 937 adult parents. The report also includes the results of another online survey from Aug. 19 to Aug 24 of 1, 136 young people ages 8 to 17. The survey found that a majority of Americans are living with “moderate” stress, which is a stress level of four to seven on a scale of one to 10.”

Thinking Outside The Box

Wife: Did you figure out our next Bipolar domicile yet?

Title: Thinking Outside The Box
Mental Illness, Bipolar, Depression and the Homeless sometime, NO... many times gohand in hand. It is extremely difficult to keep a job if we are experiencing an "episode."  How can we pay the rent when we are off in la-la-land or too depressed to even take care of our own basic hygiene and can't even get out of bed or leave the house?!

Name That Phobia – CoCoPhobia

From Wikipedia: Cocophobia: Fear of Conan O'Brien's Monologue making any sense..
Today on Facebook, I got a message from the Conan O'Brien Presents: Team Coco page:

We've got some of the most creative fans around - and we want to harness that awesome talent! Make something awesome that's Conan related, add it to our Flickr pool, and we might just use your art ON AIR! Ch-ch-check it out, buttercup!

So, I thought I would do something for this talent arts and craft show.  Hey, who knows, it might show up "On-Air."  That would be cool if it did, but I have no delusions that it will ever make the show.  It did get accepted to the Flickr Pool page.  So, that is a start.

Last month, I posted about how We Can Help Child & Adolescent Bipolar Foundation (CABF) Win $250,000 From Pepsi! CABF is competing for a $250,000 grant from The Pepsi Refresh Project. The winners will be decided by popular vote. In November, CABF finished in 5th place.  Unfortunately, only the top two win the grant!

They are eligible to try again this month for the voting grant.  As of this post, they are ranked #1 and will need our help to keep them there. I want to ask if you will help me keep them at #1 by voting daily!
