Any woman reading this, please remember this was meant for MEN ONLY so you might not like a few things I have to say.  But, please believe me, I am “trying” to help your husband be a better man! Please stop reading and check out one of my other posts.  Thank You Gals!!

OK., now that the women are gone, back to business.

Here are a few tips I wrote a while back that may help you avoid having to buy the Wife In A Box. Now, I’m not saying doing this will save a marriage! Nope, some are too far gone and others are not safe… LET ME SAY NOW GUYS, No matter how much you want to wring her neck… HITTING IS NEVER THE ANSWER!!! Well, unless you want to be your new cell mate’s B!%@# for the next 10 to 12 years.

Following these 5 gems just might  be the stuff to help avoid it going down the road of marital apathy.  My wife and I are going on 20 years, and while we have had our ups and downs…. really down, like, gutter, bottom of the bucket, sludge of scum downs!  We have be able to hold it together this long so, you can trust my simple 5 tips.  They were foraged in fire and ice then tried and found to be true through trial and error…error… error… well you get the point I think.

1. Talk to you wife/ girlfriend: Keep the lines of communication open, especially when you’re balanced or she is unbalanced. (i.e. It’s no secret that women get VERY sensitive once a month… But whatever you do NEVER SAY to her in a middle of an argument… “Oh, it’s that time of the month!”  Not unless you like sleeping on the sofa for a few months.)

2. Do something nice for your wife: Make time for her! Sometimes, we get too caught up with our own inner demons that we forget our angel, our wife, who is helping us fight them off. Two are stronger then one.  NOTE: If she is your demon, then I suggest you do something REALLY nice for her!!!

3. Make an emergency plan so that if things get real bad that it can be followed: Keep your mind to follow it if needed. This will help give your loved one a plan of action if things get too bad. It will give some control over a raging storm that is in you.  This would include a Health Care Proxy, Treatment Plan, and a safe way out for your wife to the support if you end up in the hospital.

4. Be honest: Don’t lie or cheat! Don’t steal or put yourself in a position that breaks up so many other marriages that don’t deal with a mental disorder. Guys, keep it in your pants! It’s hard enough to stay together, why add to the problems?

5. Say it, and do it often: Say I LOVE YOU! Show them that under the layers of distortions there is still deep love and passion for them…and show it! Make time for intimacy! NOT just sex! But time to be alone, just to talk about nothing at all… Just fun stuff. Holding hands can have so much power and a sweet, loving kiss makes your hair stand on end.  If you have kids, get someone to watch them and have a date night.

Yes, these are very simple tips, but they are sometimes hard to apply. Print this post and keep the tips around and reread them, guys.  I have no idea what will happen, but, it could be good… No, IT could be REAL GOOD!!!

What do you do to keep your marriage working?!
