Words of the Wisdomless: End to Start: "It's only at the end we find a new beginning. Since everything ends and everything begins then why bother starting only to finish and have to start all over... It's bit redundant to me." It's October in just a short few hours away. Gosh, I wish I had something inspiring to say but that is not the mood I'm in right now. Let me share with you one of my favorite cartoons. It's good for days like today when you're feeling like things are NOT going right.
Rob:You’ve Played 6 hours straight! I think we’ve found a cure for ADHD. What level you on now? Stew: ONE I was never given the label of ADHD in my youth. Instead it was called "behavioral problems." I received my diagnosis with dyslexia at eight. However, I'm sure they would have called it ADD or ADHD or even ODD (oppositional defiant disorder) if that had been around back in 1979.
Over the last few years I've been a small part of the annual Blog-o-sphere voice for Blog Action Day. Below is the cartoon I did for the 2008 event. This year will be about Water and will be held on October 15th. If you blog then you can take part in this fun and educational day... I know this month we have a whole week for mental illness awareness from October 3-9th, but one extra day of awareness won't hurt. You can write a poem or drawing or anything you want about water. If you don't have a blog and way to be part of let me know and I might be able to add it to my post.
Is self-medicating Depression with the chronic helping you? If you're not sure what "The CHRONIC" is...well, let me use some other Urban slang words you might be familiar with. We are talking about taking a hit of mary jane, reefer, ganja, a doobie or token' the old pipe, blunt, herb...and the last clue if you don't know what the chronic is by now, it's WEED. Yes, we are talking about marijuana.

The other Sunday... (oh, wait a minute, it was two weeks ago. My days and weeks get blurred a lot. I think it's from the medication slowly killing off my brain cell...Yes, I said CELL... As in one... Ha ha ... Umm, not funny, cause it could be true.) Two weeks ago I treated my family to a night out at Friendly's restaurant. Here in Florida, there are not many. This was more of a treat for my wife and I since we grew up on their ice cream and it was a hot spot during our courtship...Those were fun and cheap dates!!!

The Cartoonist Frame of Mind is simple, you draw what you think is funny and hope others think it's funny too. It's said you must have a "twisted mind" to be a cartoonist, but I find cartooning real Oh, now I get why I find it so easy.
To me our moods...
It's been almost a decade since terrorists flew planes into the World Trade Center's Twin Towers, taking the lives of nearly 3,000 people. Countless more were added to that number suffering from the after-effects; from early stages of cancer effecting first responders to those dealing with the toxic clean-up afterward. The emotional tragedies from PTSD cannot be overlooked, neither can the suicides connected in many ways to that day. I did cartoons for the window cleaning industry and I was at my drawing table when it happened. As the second tower fell, so did my heart. It would be almost 7 years before I would pick up that pencil once again. So, every year, I take time to remember that tragedy and I place my pencil down to do that!
This is more of a PSA than a post. Today is World Suicide Prevention Day and I felt obligated to do something to get the word out. The best thing I could think of is to pass on a list of warning signs and a few video clips. I took this photo and I see hope in the image. http://ncsponline.org/takefive.html
