Cartoon-A-Thon’s May 15th  Mental Health Hero:  UPDATE

I can’t believe the month is half over!  I had to work a lot this week and that put me behind in my drawing.  I knew sitting down today, I had to draw and ink at least 8 people… I was only able to do 6 and a half.

Before getting started, I knew I’d need some encouragement and motivation.  So, I tapped into my Facebook friends!  Let’s take a quick look at some of my friends’ replies:

Chato:

TODAY I DRAW! I’ve been working all week at my “REAL” job. You know, the one that pays the rent. I’m 5 days behind on the Heroes… Today I will try and fix that… Send me some encouragement and motivation… Stroke my ego please and pray my pens are full of ink… I’m heading and there is no stopping till it’s… drawings are done or I’m done.

Here’s what a few of my friends said:
Think that it’s fun, that you’re guided, and that all is well. Think that there’s time, that life is easy, and that the best is yet to come. Think that the reasons that elude you will one day catch up, that the lessons that stumped you will one day bring JOY, and that the sorrows that have crippled you will soon give you wings. Think that you’re important, that you cannot fail, and that happiness always returns. And think that you will prevail.
Keep your thoughts on your gift and your ability to share it with others! Doing what you love is never ‘work’, although it still is draining.
keep on keeping on Chato “U CAN DO IT”
Just do what you feel you can do…..as you said you can always go back and color them later….your drawings are FUN; don’t allow them to cause you stress!!!!
“With a little help from my friends” I was able to finish drawing and inking 6 caricatures!  This batch took 6 hours to draw and ink… I think, what I’m going to do is post the black and whites of the mental health heroes. When I get time, I’ll go back and color them… This way, I can keep up with the days.  Hey, I never said I would color any of them, all I said was…I would “draw” 31 caricatures.

Thanks every one for your encouraging words!!  If you’re on Facebook, please connect with me.  Then you too can help me and have some fun too…
