The Forensic Focus blog will discuss issues in forensic psychology such as current legal cases and recent research.  Topics will cover forensic psychology in the media, book reviews, and general discussions about crime and human behavior.

Kelly McAleer, Psy.D. is an early career psychologist working in an inpatient psychiatric hospital. She received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Washington, DC. Dr. McAleer’s professional interests include forensic psychology, personality disorders, substance use, family systems, and consultation.

Dr. McAleer has worked with forensic clients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In addition to inpatient care, she has treated clients in a variety of settings such as a day treatment program, schools, community mental health centers, private practice, jail, and in-home therapy. Dr. McAleer has worked with all age ranges and currently focuses on adult clients. In addition to her clinical experience, Dr. McAleer has presented research at conferences and symposiums and has served as a consultant.

Dr. McAleer is an avid reader and this is her first foray into the field of blogging.
