  • Parents MUST make time to have unstructured spans of time. Kids need this. We have to stop “human doing” and become “human being” every now and then.

    I agree. It’s easy to slip into self-blame about just “doing nothing” for a while. The kids get more of that than I do, and that’s my own responsibility to take care of myself. Moms and dads need it as much as anyone.

    We get busy periods, but we try not to over-schedule the kids as much as possible. Not always avoidable, but we keep an eye for that.
