		<description>I can&#039;t thank you enough for articulating this key point. My observations over the past 10 or 15 years have brought me to the conclusion that an entire generation has been raised into families who don&#039;t understand how or why one should be striving to launch their children into the world, rather than allowing them to remain dependent and irresponsible. I&#039;ve seen in my own family how doing *everything* for a child - righting their wrongs, fixing their mistakes, doing all the hard stuff for them and not forcing them to take responsibility for their own actions - is as much a form of abuse as doing nothing for a child. My parents were not perfect but I think they were clear about the purpose of parenthood. I am trying to keep what they taught me in focus as I now raise my own son.</description>
