  • This is a very interesting point!

    I beg to differ re: the mother in Miracle on 34th Street, though. (I just saw it this weekend.) She was very committed to rationalism, and she didn’t have a boyfriend — those were the only negatives portrayed, and I didn’t see any signs of depression there.
