Notes and Neurons: In Search of the Common Chorus
A fun event mixing a panel discussion with music performances and cross-cultural demonstrations to illustrate “where music happens in the brain and how.” Panel features three cognitive neuroscientists (Levitin is also a former rock star; see other talks here and here) with musician McFerrin, discussing the nature of music and dance, emotional effects, and cultural relativity.
