Compulsive hoarding is displayed in this acclaimed British video depicting three sufferers in their homes. The video revealed the often-hidden effects of the illness, though with no solutions offered except a link to a web site, OCD Action. But it’s a good web site. Another is Squalor Survivors, aimed at people looking to change their environments with the aid of CBT and other supports. Online, the director of the well-crafted video also offers all these links on the Vimeo post. He’s now looking for sufferers to do a follow up video, I hope with a happier ending.

Videos and sites like that are very useful in providing more information on disorders like that, as well as helping loved ones of sufferers get a better understanding of what is going on. A&E’s new show, Obsessed, aims to do the same, focusing on real people suffering from OCD and similar anxiety disorders. We hope it helps gives sufferers the encouragement to seek support, and others a better understanding about the issue.
