Happy Mental Health Month, readers!

To honor Mental Health Month, we’re doing a weekly challenge over at Your Body, Your Mind throughout the month.

This week’s challenge is to incorporate laughter into our daily lives.

The physical, mental, and emotional health benefits of laughter are plentiful. Laughter can boost endorphins, help you manage stress, help you get a better night’s sleep,

As people who read up on celebrity news or keep up with entertainment media, you’re probably well aware of the humor waiting around every corner!

So, why not take a page from the Your Body, Your Mind readers’ challenge and try to incorporate more laughter in your week?

You can:

  • Think about some of your favorite comedians, and how they can crack you up even with simple facial expressions. It doesn’t matter if they’re still doing standup, if they’ve moved on to television and movies, or if they’re no longer with us. I love Ellen DeGeneres, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon, Katt Williams, Dane Cook, Robin Williams, Steve Martin, Chris Rock, Richard Pryor, Ricky Gervais, and Ron White, just to name a few!
  • Browse through some of your favorite comedy movies – the ones that ALWAYS make you laugh, no matter how many times you’ve seen them. Some of my favorites are The Hangover, Bridesmaids, Super Troopers, Dazed and Confused, Knocked Up, American Pie, and Road Trip.
  • Flip through the TV listings and find out which funny television shows are coming on this week that’s sure to have you in stitches, even if it’s a rerun. For me, it’s Modern Family, hands down!

What will you do to get some more chuckles this week?
