Celebrity Psychings

Miley Cyrus, who has been vocal about her thoughts on lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) rights in the past (specifically, the injustice she finds in a court system that bans gay marriage but finds Casey Anthony not guilty of murder), recently made a simple – but permanent – statement about gay relationships and marriage (and, if I should be so bold, equality in general).

She tattooed an equal sign on the ring finger of her right hand (pictured right).

Near the end of last month, Cyrus tweeted a picture of her new ink, with the words “All LOVE is equal” accompanying the yfrog image. She then responded to naysayers by pointing out that only God can judge others.

Clearly, equality is an issue about which Cyrus is passionate, and we humans are known for taking various types of stands when it comes to things we believe in.

What about the issues YOU’RE passionate about?

What kinds of steps have you taken to make a statement, start a movement, or bring change? Would you get a tattoo representing your beliefs (and if you have already, I’d love to see them!)? What about start a campaign? Or support group? Or petition for a new law?
