Daniel Radcliffe Moves On From The Harry Potter Franchise

Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

Daniel Radcliffe is doing something we’ve all had to do at one point or another: He’s moving on.

The Potter family celebrated the upcoming release of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 DVD earlier this week and filming for the final movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, has wrapped up and the movie will hit theaters July 15.

So, aside from a few red carpet appearances, one could say Radcliffe’s journey with the gabazillion dollar Potter franchise is, for all intents and purposes, over.

And the actor is transitioning from the juggernaut that launched him into Super Stardom to smaller, more intimate (and some indie) productions.

In addition to once again gracing the Broadway stage (this time in the musical “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying”), Radcliffe is also starring in the thriller “The Woman in Black” as well as “The Amateur Photographer” which is an indie comedy set in the 1970s.

Although he seems to be on the right path (as far as avoiding some kind of former child star meltdown is concerned), I can’t help but marvel at the mental transition Radcliffe must be undergoing.

Celebrity Psychiatrist Pegs Kate Middleton As “Bad Girl”

Monday, April 4th, 2011

Author and celebrity psychiatrist Dr. Carole Lieberman released a new book last November, and according to her, there are quite a few parallels between the subject and soon-to-be princess Kate Middleton.

Bad Girls: Why Men Love Then & How Good Girls Can Learn Their Secrets profiles 12 different types of “bad girls” and, according to the description, “will appeal to women who want to learn the secrets hidden in the bad girl book of spells, without truly becoming ‘bad’ themselves, and to men who are licking their wounds.”

How does this fit in with Kate Middleton?

During an exclusive interview with RadarOnline, Lieberman claims Middleton seems to have used some of the very techniques the author describes in the book.

My book talks about how good girls can use bad girl techniques to get their man. I interviewed one hundred men to write this book and they shared their most intimate sexual and emotional experiences with me and I share those with my readers to help them snag their dream man.

Weekend Reading: Rihanna On Chris Brown’s Restraining Order

Friday, April 1st, 2011

Have a Rolling Stone subscription or think you’ll be near a newsstand this weekend?

The new issue of Rolling Stone, out today, features a cover story about Rihanna during which the singer discusses her “difficult upbringing” and the “endless rumors about her relationships,” as well as shows an impressive amount of compassion toward ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

Back in February, Brown’s judge was considering reducing (and soon did reduce) his restraining order against Rihanna – something Rihanna did not object to.

During her Rolling Stone piece, Rihanna offers some insight about why she decided not to oppose the restraining order reduction:

That’s my decision. It doesn’t mean we’re gonna make up, or even talk again. It just means I didn’t want to object to the judge. We don’t have to talk ever again in my life. I just didn’t want to make it more difficult for him professionally. What he did was a personal thing – it had nothing to do with his career. Saying he has to be a hundred feet away from me, he can’t perform at awards shows – that definitely made it difficult for him.

Fortunately for Brown, the restraining order reduction is just one more thing that won’t interfere with his career.
