For those of you Coldplay fans (*raises hand*) who are wondering just how much longer you’re gonna have to rock out to the group’s 2008 album, Viva La Vida And Death And All His Friends, before getting some new tunes, the answer might be, “Not much.”

According to Rolling Stone, we might be able to expect the album as soon as the end of 2011.

That’s great, but it’s what Coldplay members Chris Martin and Will Champion talked to Zane Lowe (of BBC’s Radio 1) about that’s intriguing.

According to Martin, the as-of-yet untitled album is a “thinly veiled account of what happens within the group,” and,

[...] love, addiction, OCD, escape and working for someone you don’t like.

It’s not difficult to imagine how themes like love and escape can be represented in songs. It’s not even hard to imagine how a theme like addiction could be represented in music (Eminem, anyone?).

But how is Coldplay representing OCD on their upcoming album?

I’ll be very interested to hear it!  Until then, I suppose all we can do is speculate. Any ideas?

How would YOU write a song about OCD?
