I too am on Seroquel 400mg PM not XR found XR just kept me tired ALL day- it is an atypical anti-psychotic; this helps with sleep and keeping the mania at bay. The problem is you come to love the sleep so much, first it is 5, then 7 then 9 hours. I am on Lamictal, a mood stabilizer that keeps the depression from being so deep, it does NOT eliminate it. The two also left me very anxious. I take Klonopin now; 3MG at night. Klonopin has a 30+ hour half life, steady the course and the anxiety will conveniently in check! ALL THREE ARE FAR FROM STIMULANTS. In the morning I take a ritalin (only for the stimulant), cytomel T4 thyroid 50mcg (again for the stimulant), and just added provigil 100mg. Havent been too impressed with this, will probably kick it next med check, and double the cytomel. Still have depression, second thoughts about decisions, and feel guilt about my condition. My manic episodes were the norm not the exception, really didn't want to get better; except for the increasing visits to the inpatient clinic, to keep from being buzzard bait. I have been diagnosed with BP I and II, and simple DSM IV Chronic Depression - WHO CARES? My Psychiatrist now (FINALLY FOUND A GOOD ONE) just listens, really listens, and makes med changes based on our discussions. I have been to 12-18 Dr's before. They all have a favorite antidepressive (Rep), all ssri's. They cause me physical problems, happy legs, anxiety, inability to sleep then falling asleep at inappropriate times, like during dinner. All it comes down to is finding the right Dr. that will LISTEN to you and make the adjustments to the cocktail, to make life tolerable. THEN a couple add ons and you can work making it enjoyable. My Dr says about Seoquel (associated with weight gain) " you cant gain weight if you don't put food in your mouth!" I do miss being able to work for 24-48 hours at a time getting the next sales presentation done, and crushing my peers, but I would be dead by now, so I will take the time to work with my Dr. to get it right, very, very close at this point. Good luck out there.

Hi Garret,
Are you seeing a psychiatrist? I'm just asking because you wrote "Dr". If you aren't seeing a psychiatrist, you really should. They are trained in psychotropic medications and can often help out much better than a GP, etc. There are other options for Bipolar besides Depakote and Seroquel. Lamictal is good for the depression side of it and for some people, Seroquel is good for the mania and sleep, but perhaps you need something different. It is a process, often trial and error which can be very frustrating! Hang in there...

I came off three of my medications(with my doctors approvel almost eight weeks ago- I got back energy, thinking became clearer, with my new cPAP machine I was sleeping. But the last couple of weeks I have hit depression, my therapist wanted to put me in the partial program, my Rx doc started me back on all the meds I just came off. It only been one day, but all the nasty side effect are back and I have moved like a zombie today! Why is it all about 'balancing your meds' what about 'balancing my life WITHOUT meds"? I went sixteen years(age 22-38) with NO psych meds. Why cant I have that back??

Fatima-
I checked that website and I have to tell you there is no such thing as curing everything with the same method.
Please see a real DR!

Fatima-
I went to that website and there is simply no method of curing everything. Just not scientifically possible, so when his symptoms come back, I hope you find a real Dr for him.

I found a program that can heal most disease and my son, Jesse, age 16, and I are testimonials. I published Jesse's story in Ezine Articles and the web site, www.cureadhdbipolar.net. Jesse was cured of bipolar, schizophrenia and ADHD and I had several medical problems myself.
