What to Expect from Psychiatric Hospitalization

Sunday, June 10th, 2012

I hope that this video will be helpful to people living with mental health issues and for their families as well. Psychiatric crisis situations are stressful for everyone involved.

If there is a chance that you or your family member might need psychiatric hospitalization at some point, I recommend creating a psychiatric crisis plan. I discuss crisis plans a little in this video. Here is another video on YouTube where I discuss the need for a crisis plan more thoroughly and give examples of what to include on one.

If you have ever had a bad experience with a doctor or at a hospital stay, it doesn’t mean that they are all bad. There are many types of therapy and rehabilitation services offered. Please do not give up and find the one that works for you.

Feel free to leave a comment sharing experiences you have with hospitalization and any advice you may have. You can also connect with me through the links below.
