On Mondays (Luna’s Day) we share thoughts and stories about the importance of animals in our lives.

I love the marvelous names my readers choose for their beloved pets. Such love and thought and humor and creativity go into them!

E tells us that:

I managed to convince my mother to name all new cats after national legislatures. So far we have Duma and Knesset (the Russian and Israeli parliaments, respectively). Next in line? I’m waiting for her to get a Sejm, a Diet, and an Althingi (Poland, Japan, and Iceland, respectively).

And Krystal says:

my sweet dog is named Bama (after alabama, the state) =) we lived there for a year, loved it – moved home and bought him – decided to name him after it!
