There’s nothing so heart-wrenching as losing a beloved pet.
Our Luna’s passing on Monday has been so painful, yet also so enriching thanks to the amazing support and feedback from so many of you.
I’m aware now of what an important topic this is: Our animals, their meaning, and our love for them.
So, in honor of Luna and every other wonderful pet, I’m going to devote the next several Mondays’ posts to celebrating animals and their places in our lives and hearts.
I’ll be including excerpts from the wonderful comments and stories you have sent. Your words are so beautiful and inspiring. They’ve helped me and my family so much this week, and I am sure they will help others.
So please do join me here on Mondays (Luna’s Day), starting tomorrow.
Meanwhile, here’s my original post about Luna, and the New York Times reply post by Tara Parker-Pope.

And after a week of crying, I’m trying now to regain some normalcy, so I’m revisiting my usual blog topics.
