Zoë Kessler - Chick ADD

Zoë Kessler - Chick ADD

I’ve been busy blogging here at Psych Central for a while now, but that’s not all the work on ADHD I do.

Since my diagnosis four years ago, I’ve been writing for magazines, creating radio documentaries, writing book reviews, and writing, performing and producing standup comedy.

I wanted to share a sampling of some of my other work with you.

I especially hope you’ll listen to and enjoy my standup comedy clip. It was recorded live, on August 23, 2008, at The Downtown Bookstore, Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada, and produced at CBC Radio One, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  Written, performed and produced by yours truly (and badly edited here at home for the upload for Laugh At Loud – sorry about the bad editing!).

He Said / She Said: Examining the ADHD Life – Edifice Wrecks, Part I

He Said / She Said - Examining the ADHD Life with Zoë Kessler and Jeff SiegelThis week’s He Said / She Said: Examining the ADHD Life gives a nod to the classic Greek tragedy, Oedipus Rex, by Sophocles. If anyone could wreak havoc, it was ‘ol Oedipus. Sometimes, being ADHD is no different. Read on, brave souls! And be wary of oncoming ruin!

Edifice: an edifice is, literally, a structure that has a roof and walls and stands permanently in one place. Metaphorically, it is an abstract structure or a complex entity of many parts. We use it here to mean the many complex components that go into keeping one’s life on track (organization, purpose, intent, structure, schedules, planning, etc., etc.)

Wreck: to reduce to a ruinous state
