I do appreciate you once again sharing your thoughts and experiences, which are obviously different from mine. I thought they were worthy of further exploration, and perhaps my post needs some clarification.

Last Wednesday, we covered rock & roll. And when we think about rock & roll, or any other loud, popular music genre, we inevitably think about drugs. Thus the cliché of sex & drugs & rock & roll. (I know, I know, I’ll get to that. Think of the first two installments as foreplay). But when it comes to drugs, if the majority of adults with ADHD are undiagnosed, obviously, they’re not taking medication.

Or are they?

It was day one of the 8-week drumming course for at-risk youth.

I’d taught lots of kids before, but never “at-risk” kids. They were aged 9-11 years, mostly boys, and a few girls, in an after-school class.

I walked into the classroom, and the whole room was vibrating.

OMG! I’m becoming a Hollywood cliché! Have you noticed how, either covertly or overtly, ADHD is becoming the new Hollywood shorthand for slovenly, disorganized, procrastinating but cute & creative female characters?
