[caption id="attachment_2819" align="alignleft" width="225"] Who are you supposed to be?[/caption]

My newest friend asked me this question:

“Would you explain a little more about having poor self awareness?”

That caught me off guard. I tried to gather my wits. How do I explain how I know I don’t know myself well. You see, I’ve always known myself, I was just … wrong. Quite wrong!

So why bother explaining? Because I was asked, and because I think I can. If it’s what others experience, good. If not, good. At least then you have something to measure your experiences against.

  1. Mmm. Yes. “Who are you?” I saw a video the other day… it was a TED talk, some director talking about “Lawrence of Arabia.” That scene where he runs into the Suez Canal, and that guy on the motorbike is screaming, “Who *are* you?” And he doesn’t answer. It just cuts to the scene in Cairo. I think T.E. Lawrence had ADHD too.

    • And here we are in Cairo … and I am still unsure of myself.

  2. Wow, you just described me so well!! Not the laid back part, I really am, but that may be from sheer laziness & procrastination!

    • Hi, amber bellikka, I don’t know very many ADHDers who are truly lazy. I’ll buy distracted and procrastinating, but true laziness is an art form that requires an ability to concentrate and focus on avoiding work that we just don’t have. As to being laid back, I think we’re all laid back … in our hearts and souls, just not really in our emotions.

Thanks for reading my blog and for commenting, I appreciate that,
      Kelly
